good friend of mine was a victim of the attempted suicide by truck deal. he was hauling a grader. woman was mentally unstable, took a dive at him and he had barely a chance to react. I was right behind him with a D6 cat going to the same job, all he said on the radio was "oh F..." then I saw all hell break loose ahead. took out his front axle and he went careening into the ditch through a stand of poplar. kept 'er upright, ground to a halt into a swathed canola field with the grader still on. the woman lived, they called the STARS air ambulance, landed it in the middle of the highway and flew her to the hospital. I took about 200 pics while they had the highway shut down. pics 024.jpg pics 025.jpg pics 026.jpg pics 013.jpg pics 008.jpg

It comes with the job unfortunately. I'm going to guess your friend had been driving 20-25 yrs when this happened.

he had only been driving for about 6 or 7 years. pretty young fella, I'd say maybe early 30's when it happened. LaPrairie is a huge company, they just shuffled him to another division. Great company, family owned out of BC. Canada's largest Canadian owned crane outfit.
