Starting out as an O/O in Ontario, Canada doing short haul trips in Ontario. If I'm doing say 8 freight deliveries a day in my area what rate structure and rate amount is typical. I'm dealing directly with businesses shipping and doing some work for brokers/dispatchers.

Thanks. I should also mention this is straight truck loads. And question: is it fair to charge my time to get to the load and drop it off? There's some freight forwarders offering owner operators with a truck rates as low as $35/hr. That doesn't cover my costs. Trying to direct shippers to make a living wage out here.

When I worked my truck by the hour, it was $115 an hour, 4 hours to show up, and anything over 4 is 8, I get up in the morning to work, you tie my truck up for the day you are paying for the day

    Coffey Thanks this.
