Best truck autions were and which are the best

You won't see many of these trucks at auctions anymore. They are simply too old.

For that matter, I highly recommend a membership in the American Truck Historical Society if you're a fan of old trucks.

 

I saw a few like that in truckpaper, just this morning. They are projects though.

 

I've seen quite a few on ebay and truckpaper lately. Should not be to hard to find.

 

Are there websites or publications that have repo sale or auction listings? And what about good auction sites in general?

 

On eBay there is an '86 359 with a Cummins(400 ponies) that is still wearing its original Werner paint job.

 

I own a 1997 Peterbilt 379 (pictured below), which certainly is not 25 years old. I have a full-coverage, stated-value policy on the truck through Gulfway Insurers for around $500/yr.

My policy is non-commercial. I can pull my own trailer with it (at least as far as insurance is concerned; there are other problems) but I cannot haul freight for hire with this policy. So obviously that's why it's so inexpensive.

I recommend giving Gulfway a call at 800-940-5010. I've been with them since June (when I bought the truck) and they've been good to work with. A bit more paperwork than a normal insurance policy; I had to submit photos of the truck and such, and the first premium had to be paid by check (no opportunity to pay by phone.) But for the price, the hassle was worth it.
