Hi all! I am a marketing student and am working with a company that is opening a new indoor truck washing facility in Alsip, IL. My class is working to provide suggestions to them on marketing this to current truck drivers and making it a valuable experience for future customers. If you would be so kind as to answer a few questions so I can better understand your experiences, I would greatly appreciate it!
    • Does your trucking company require you to get your truck washed on a regular basis? If so, do you have to pay for it or do they give you funds for this?

    • If your company does not require you to get your truck washed on a regular basis, how often do you get your truck washed?

    • Which social media platforms (if any) do you currently use (ex: Facebook, Twitter, etc.)?

    • What free giveaways would entice you to visit a truck wash (ex: complimentary travel mug, cap, etc.)?

    • What features would you like to see in the waiting area of a truck wash (ex: free coffee)?

    • Do you listen to any podcasts while on the road?

I love any truckwash that can get the job done within 90 minutes of me pulling into their driveway. An hour is even better. If its gonna be longer than that, I'm putting it in gear and I'll keep driving my dirty truck.

Its hard enough finding time to get the truck washed, I'm not wasting any just-found free time sitting around in a truck wash, no matter what they do or don't have to distract me with.

I personally do no social media, podcasts, or whatever the newest time stealer is. As a company driver, its up to me as to where, when and how the truck gets washed or not. Usually once a month on average. Company pays. As far as truckwash amenities, multiple very clean bathrooms are a good thing. Give the truckwash employees their own, separate bathrooms.

And don't make me pull my freshly-washed truck out into a muddy, wet, potholed lot when I leave.

The company does not require my truck be washed, when it gets washed, they pay for it. It usually gets washed once or twice a month. If there’s more than one or two ahead of me, I skip it. I do not use social media of any kind, unless you count this web site. There’s no kind or amount of free junk will entice me to use a truck wash. My company has an account at Blue Beacon, and expects us to use it. I could care less about a waiting room at a truck wash, I typically won’t use it. I don’t listen to podcasts at all.

Alsip, IL? ... Location, location, location!

Lot of trucks going up and down the 294. Only reason to get off is to pickup or deliver.

If I'm on the 294, I just want to get through it. Not looking to stop for any reason that's not making me money.

You can blast me all day long on social or any other media. Put huge billboards with pictures of women in bikinis hand washing a truck .. I'm still not going to get off the 294 for a truck wash.

Thank you - this is very helpful! From what I understand, the wash will take 45 minutes and they will have 4 bays so there shouldn't be any lines.

    bzinger Thanks this.

Thank you for taking the time to respond - I appreciate it! This facility has 4 bays with the intention of drivers never having to wait in line.
