I was driving through the Everglades on old 41 to Homestead in my 87 Camaro back in that era.

Raining cats and dogs and lizards. The 2 lane road was deeply rutted out in the oncoming lane and the rain had me down to 40 mph in my lane.

Suddenly this semi appears out of the rain and it’s van trailer is coming at me jackknifed across my lane.

I instantly swerved to my right and really lucked out finding the only clearing going down that side of the road being most of it was no emergency lane just guardrail

I roared to a sideways stop as the trailer missed us by a hair.

I looked at my wife and she looked at me, And she was like Oh my God you are as White as a ghost.

I sat there by the side of the road until the rain let up and unwound.

2 lane roads scare the begesus out of me , especially up here in Michigan where people just fly down them.

Still no coffee!! I called the Delivery co., supposedly the Drivers going to call Me. As much as I want to, I can’t fault the Driver. Someone doesn’t know how to route delivery’s. So much for College Educated Logistics Experts. Way over rated. Nothing beats old fashioned experience. Best LTL Dispatcher I ever had probably barley finished the eighth grade. But he knew Trucking, and could give directions like no one I’ve ever seen. This whole new way of doing things lacks common sense. Drivers pay the price, too often.
