Truck Load Rates Halt 8 Week Slide 2.0

Too good be to be true to keep looking down at "Click and Book" loads that pay less than 4 dol per mile.

This is Chicago area "Click and Book" freight market this morning...

I think some rate thawing is needed to cool down enthusiasm...to avoid another fall into an abyss later.

 

Not much out of there. Last week I delivered to Connecticut and ended up deadheading to Buffalo, NY. But when they pay 4 dol per mile, there's still enough juice to squeeze out of that revenue. Tolls from Portage, IN: about $140 if you choose I-80 instead of I-90.

 

I got 3.37/mi out of Los Angeles on 2300 miles earlier. So, everybody should head WEST. Leave the table scraps in the Midwest and East to us little folk.

 

Nothing. Every time i run up into new england I come back empty.

 

Like today. Bounced 316mi back to the yard still over 2.50 on all miles. I won't say there isn't anything coming back out unless you wanna put something on for a buck 50 A mi./ didn't think so

The northwest and northeast both seem to always have miserable rates. Could it have something to do with Canadian or Mexican carriers eating up the southbound freight so they can get better paying northbound loads? I realize that Canadian and Mexican carriers aren't supposed to pick up and deliver the same load within US borders, but I get the feeling the rules are being overlooked or ignored entirely.

 

Supply and demand. We consume in the NE and since production went over seas not really a whole lot left in the rust belt. Get good going in because no one wants drive here in the first place and everybody fighting for scraps coming out
