Don't know if ya have this option available to you or not but when i got my cdl back in 13 after bein out of a truck for 3 yrs i got stuck with the auto restriction on my license cuz that's the type of truck i took the test in. But later i was able to use another friends truck to retake test an get the restriction taken off. So see if after ya been driving awhile if ya can find a manual to retake the test in. There are some schools out there that will let ya test in a manual and just charge ya for the day to do it providing you know how to drive a manual transmission that is.
