I would feel the owner would just not want the truck going 2 hrs in each direction with someone that may possibly not buy the truck.
Also do you know of any good ways of looking up shops that have them int he St. Louis area. I would like to get my truck on some rollers just to see what its actually laying to the ground.
Advice for first truck

These were sent to me for that W900. I hope y’all can read them.

Then walk away.
the dyno/blow by is about 50% important to do thing
it tells you two things
the percentage of rated or advertised power
and how worn the rings are
Another advantage to this is seeing what codes it will spit out under a load, you would be surprised how many times this happens
I don’t get how people can buy something without at least knowing if it can pull a load.
or when it will need an inframe.
2 or 4 hours away if your willing to pay for it, then the owner should not mind, -
Id wanna see the paperwork on that engine rebuild. Something showing either the engine serial #, the truck serial #, something can prove that engine was actually rebuilt.

I’ve asked for this as well.

Also, what should I expect to spend on all of the tests? Not balking at the prices, just want to make sure that I’m not being taken advantage of since this thing is several hours away so I’ll be setting a lot of this up over the phone.

I'd want to know what they meant by "rebuilt". In frame? Out of frame? Top End? OEM or mayfit? Used parts or new?
Steam cleaning and a rattle can of Krylon?
I've seen all of these actions described as a "rebuilt engine".Dino soar, black_dog106, jamespmack and 1 other person Thank this. -
This all the way!!! I know these guys are talking about $10,000 emissions issues, but if a C15 Cat lays down on you that’s one expensive engine to work on. If you buy a $50,000 truck and a month later you have a $22,000 overhaul bill, you better either have a rich daddy or lots of credit.

Well the issue I’m running into right now is financing. Even with a near 800 credit score and down payment I’m still being rejected because I don’t have a business history. I haven’t tried financing through a dealership yet. It’s getting frustrating having the money and work there and not able to get a truck.

How old of a truck can you run for what you're doing?
