Help with installing my galaxy 98vhp in my kW t660

    I have galaxy ex 94 HP hooked directly to battery and grounded to chassis. Truck is 2020 w900 KW. When you KEY up and lights come on traction control comes on it kicks cruise control off and a.c. goes on and off. Any suggestions

    Slick, it sounds like your truck doesn't like the radio. How much power is that radio putting out? Do you have an amplifier and, if so, how much power from it? Are you using the truck's factory antenna or an aftermarket antenna?

    You might try locating the radio's negative wire to the battery negative to see if it makes any difference.

    You might try disconnecting the antenna and attach a dummy load to the antenna port and key the radio to see if the shenanigans stop. If they do, your problems seems to be coming from the antenna. If it doesn't improve things, then your problem may be feedback in the DC electrics.

    If the radio chassis is not attached to a ground in the cabin, you might try attaching a wire from the radio's chassis to a truck chassis ground in the cabin or elsewhere.

    It will take some troubleshooting to fix the problem. Obviously, you don't want to operate the radio as it is.
