in an 75 mph state if you do not stop for fuel i would log 72 and if i showed an fuel stop i would run 72 to the fuel stop and show 70 after...... Or reverse the order depending where in the state i fueled at..... Just to be on the safe side...... Especially going across california scales .... The donner scale is notorious for getting their calculators out ...... Be cool!!!!

Even with my last 75 MPH truck going across those high MPH states out west the BEST I could show was 68MPH with a light load! And that was with a stop watch! If you try to log a 75 MPH state as such as stated above DOT will have something to say about it either at a scale or an audit!

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the JCT lease contract?

Curious if they even have satellite on their trucks ... after all - it's 2010 not 1999.

Just amazing all the recent posts about logging 75mph and "dooin whatcha gotta do" to make a living.

I understand that, but last I checked the dot can audit 6 months back comparing to sat. data - and as an independant or lease-op , you could be responsible for thousands in fines if caught.

It don't matter if you work for them anymore either, they'll make you pay or go to jail.

    Just my take ...

Yes we do have satellite on our trucks. Our saftey will not let you log more than 64.5 mph. Anything over that, you get points, that lead up to eventually cancelation of your contract, Since we do run looseleaf books, they will give you the option to correct them, although it still remains in your safety folder. They also inform all drivers that they are responsible for any fines during an audit, JCT is very strict on the log book situation. They have 2 full time and one part time persons reviewing and doing an inhouse audit

I wonder how many of those renegade truckers posting here about skirting the rules are still employed at the company, or still have a CDL-A license? If so enjoy it while you can because when they start the driver safety scores you'll get in line and do what your supposed to do or looking for a job outside of Commercial Driving, for those of you that refuse to let these renegade FLY-BY-NIGHT outfits dump all of the blame on you and stand-up for yourself I say thank you! This is what you get with deregulation: fly-by-night trucking outfits with no regard for safety(drivers and all motoring public) and a lot of lower class, poorly educated, irresponsible sociopaths for employees (office staff and drivers). This industry is doomed and the only that can save it now is to re-regulate it again and clean it up. One more thing, if you can not make enough money truck driving within the rules then demand more money, demand pay for wait time so you don't have to kill yourself or others on the road to make-up for the lost pay,or just find another job that will sustain you and your family. When these joints have to shut down because no respectable person will work for them they can go out of business where most of them belong anyway.

Interesting take on the benefits of regulation, seeing as how your from the "Confederate States of America" ...

I happen to agree with "more money" for drivers tho ... :biggrin_25525:
