Haha! Copy that, Qbf594. That sounds like such a welcome change from my usual way of being overly concerned and sensitive (not that man can't be sensitive). Ugh. I hate qualifying everything I say so I don't offend anyone. But I see the value in taking a different approach.

No worries, Qbf594! I need the real talk. The point gets across much clearer. I'm sure it was exhausting trying to accommodate other drivers.

Lol good point about accidents. Faster drivers can always drive around me (and I promise not to speed up!).

That happens to me all the time.

I'm going 65 and the truck in front is going 62 or 63, for miles as I catch up.
Then I go to pass the truck and as soon as I get next to it, suddenly it is going 65 or faster - until I get behind it again.

I can bump it up to 67 for a short time, which might be enough. Otherwise it is a natter of who is heavier and how many hills there are, or who pulls off the road first.

Funny thing, watching the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes series...
I know this is somewhat off topic, but it was mentioned earlier in the thread.
So this is directed to Lisa, since you mentioned an interest in it.

Many comedians mention the design of bicycles between the male and female versions; the fact that the male version has that bar right across and the female version has the open area.

I can see the reason for it now.
In those early days the females wore long dresses, and also rode bikes while wearing them.
It would have been very difficult, not to mention unladylike and maybe impossible, to dismount a bicycle with a bar across the top of the frame if one is wearing a long dress.

One reason I really like that series is that it tries to show life as it was in that era.
It is much more down to earth in its portraying of the environment of the time.
    More authentic.

The fourth episode showed Holmes' fighting skills.
Nothing like the movies or current shows - but much more realistic for the time period.
And without all the cutaways showing the calculating mind of Holmes - you could just sense and see it in his expressions and movements.

So aggravating. You're both doing (roughly) the same job, so why would the other driver act like that?

Same job, but different attitudes and motives would be my guess.

As to speeding up when I want to get around them when they are going slower than me...
Maybe they don't like the company I work for and so want to make things more difficult for me.
Because there are times when they let another driver pass them with no problem. Different company?

Hmm...I'd never considered why the bicycles were different for men and women back in those days. Astute point, Moosetek13. And side note: I'm so glad women started wearing pants for riding bikes and horses. I can't imagine wearing a dress for either activity. Not comfortable, and how many times did the dress get caught in the spokes? Awful.

It is refreshing to see life in other times. That is one benefit of watching shows like that.

I think a lot of people think of Holmes as a strictly intellectual character, and they forget he could fight as well. Sounds like a well-done series, with the lead actor putting a lot of nuance into the role.

Ahh, that could be. Is animosity a big thing in this industry? I was watching a video on YouTube and a trucker almost dropped a trailer because someone had pulled the kingpin. Yikes!

He does do that, for sure.
As do you, it seems, with your posts here.

But the RDJ version movies made his fighting skills a focal point in many ways.

    A side note:
In the Downey movie that had Irene Adler, Sherlock had a picture of her on a table.
He acquired that picture in the first episode of the Brett series - A Scandal In Bohemia.

Irene was in only one of the original Holmes stories, but modern day films have her in several.
I guess they like her too much.
They like to think Holmes had a romantic interest in her.
Maybe so, but I suspect Holmes simply respected and admired her intelligence more than anything else.

    Qbf594 and Lisa9 Thank this.

There does seem to be some.

I never move without first checking the kingpin and tandem release.
Never happened to me, but I have heard the stories.
And many people do not like Swift.
