Okay,,,:biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514:,,, NYC has been noted. It is RM hands now. BTW, RM was aware and is currently working on a new Beta Version to resolve some of these issues.

As Beta Testers, all we can do is find the issues and bugs, report them and then continue on to find more bugs. Once Rm has been notified then it is in their hands.

But, as Lead Beta Tester I am taking note of all issues, concerns, likes, dislikes, etc that are posted here. E-Mails have been sent.

RM is aware and has responsed to my E-Mails, solutions are being discussed with the engineers.

    Thanks,
    Mark

By your own words here it is still a BETA version and we are finding the bugs. I paid the top price for this. These are not little glitches or errors.

And yes I own MCRA a number of years worth, the point is this unit purportedly has that information in it. NOT!!!! It does not deliver what it is marketed to have.

Do not underestimate my knowledge nor education, I have been reasonable in my assessment, and civil in my posts. You sir have made the off color comments about/to me. I know how to drive this truck and get to where I need to be, with or without a GPS. GPS/Mapping software is for street level routing, the local stuff. Don't need it for the open spaces, even there this unit is not accurate. It has crashed, gives false warning alarms (weigh stations, tolls), forgets where it is after a road/highway change. Exact details would not and do not change the fact that there are many, many problems with this unit.

I figured by reading your post that YOU must work for Rand McNally, so I'm replying to your post. They have a long way to go before they have this thing working like it's supposed to. I made the mistake of buying one of the first ones off the line. I'll be sending it back as soon as I can for a refund. My first test drive was a joke. I know I needed the 100B exit but it wanted me to take the "A" exit then get back on then off from the north bound side. Basically 3 loops to go to the right.. Then if my exit was more then 40 miles away (say 90 miles) it will tell me to take that exit 3 times. Also if you're in town and it's telling you where to turn, the refresh rate is so slow that you may drive past your turn before it says anything.. I'm not very pleased with it, as you may be able to tell. I would definitely not recommend anyone buy this thing yet...

Any company does not put out a beta version. A beta version is what the beta tester test, since you are not a beta tester you are not getting it... once the version has been debugged then and only then will it be released to the public. Do not read into my words and make them into what they are not.

I stated that a RM is working on a new beta version to resolve some of these issues. RM is RM and beta testers.

If it has given a false warning about a weigh station or toll... then if you actually own a unit, go to the Tell Rand and input what you found.

What version are you on? simply give me the last four numbers.

And Yes exact details would help. This would show a problem with that section of the road and thus if the unit did give a bad reading then you would be helping out your fellow drivers.

Instead of spending all your effort in just writing, why not provide me with some details where it gave you a false reading?

And if your MCRA is a few years old, might I suggest updating to a 2010. Since road data changes each year for all states. This would assist you in keeping off those sticky roads and being stopped by the police.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Please give me the state/city/road/ direction of travel you were going and any other details. RM wishes to duplicate your issue.

    Thanks,
    Mark

as stated before, if you actually own a unit, please connect to the internet asap and get the lastest production version. It came out several days ago.

If you are on an older version, then some of the issues you may be having has been corrected in this production version.

If you are having an issue with the unit when you post let me know the last 8 numbers of the version your unit has.

    Thank you

I was heading from East Peoria Illinois to East Keys Ave in Springfield Illinois. It sent me from I-74 East to I-155 South to I-55 South to Exit 100A (should have been 100B) it then told me to get right back on I-55 North and immediately back off on 100B when all I had to do was take 100B in the first place...

    Hope that explains it..

I like 224 am pretty disappointed w/ the tnd. I contacted R/M w 1 of the issues I have (multi-stop mileage prior to beginning the trip). This was 3 business days ago and as of yet they have not been able to resolve this problem. Lots of false routing instructions, weigh station warnings for the opposite side of the interstate, power lose with insufficient time to plug in, etc. serial no. a 32 t5b 170fc6.

Thank you, your wrong exit on ramp was send directly to RM. I do not go through 1st/2nd level tech support. I deal with the one who has his thumb on everything.

This will be checked via an emulator (same program on laptop) and if any testers in the known area.

This is the kind of data that I can use. It gives us the ability to actually see if that ramp is tagged wrong in the database.

What version are you on? (preferences\about)

    Thank You,
    Mark

I saw your post yesterday, and I posted step by step instructions on how to do a multi-stop.

The issue you have with waiting 3 days for support was noted yesterday. This SHOULD not have happened. It is being looked at very seriously by RM.

under the main menu/preferences/about is the version number, what are the last 8 numbers?

Weight station warnings for wrong side... do you remember where? I need to note this also. Did it look like a weigh station used to be on the side that you were on?

The warning about battery is low has been noted. I will reforward back to RM about this concern. I have the same issue with mine, so do not feel singled out..lol but, then again I see the bugs and I just note them and continue on...

I have offered to anyone,,, If they cannot pm me here due to lack of posts then they can contact DieselBoss and he will give my email out.

I am the lead beta tester and I really appreciate everyone's input or concerns.

    Thanks,
    Mark
