yea yea im the parking lot pit racer just finished the cdl mill fresh off the swift training supertrucker.....just kiddin guys we allways knew not to speed in the pits its an embarassment, if you went anything over 5-10 mph you got your ### chewed out.... so lighten up and let those backers have a break we dont need truckers running over each other at a truck stop...hellooo

Speeding in a parking lot is not a big problem to you? What would you say if someone walked out in front of you and you hit them? "Guess he shouldn't have been there?" Just because you do it, doesn't mean it's ok.

Speeding is a big problem in our yards also - so is not following yard flow. At the end of the night you have up to 40 drivers trying to hook ASAP to beat traffic and get home. There is nothing I hate more than walking across the lot through the load line and empty line to get to my truck when everyone is trying to get out. Good way to get run over by someone grabbing gears to get the right punch on his time sheet.

I think that these super truckers who believe it is ok to speed in the yard/truck stop are an embarrassment to the breed. You can always tell the ones who have no respect for themselves or their profession (IN ANY PROFESSION!!) by the BS they spout. Lines like "you know you've done it too" "Don't tell me you never did it either" or" I just did it this once". These are nothing but excuses for their inability to follow even the simplest rules of common courtesy, and usually the people spouting this BS are the ones who feel like they are either above the rules, or just don't give a ####e.

Also telling some of these ______ (use the expletive description of your choice) drivers how to correct their behavior will return either silence or being told to "shove it up your _____" or "I'll drive my rig how I want" etc..... Luckily the average pedestrian in a truck stop is somewhat familiar with these drivers, and pay enough attention they don't get run over by the sobs

the worse thing i experience in our yard is the people who just fly around corners without honking, or they come around the corner so wide they block both "lanes"

i yard jockey and fuel tractors alot so im in the yard atleast 6 hours a day....its annoying as hell

Speaking of speeding in parking lots/Truck Stops.....

I pulled into the Pilot in White Pine, Tenn a bit after midnight friday morning to the sight of a local bear taking an accident report. Seems a USA driver was drag racing out of the lot as another truck was making the left into the fuel lanes. The turning driver didnt even have a chance to hit his brakes before the USA truck rubbed its left trailer wheels across the tow hooks of a Shaker Columbia. Those tow hooks did a real good job destroying a pair of wheels and tires.

    Hour or so ago ......
    (Lebanon TN Pilot Exit 238/I40)
Driver for XXXXXXX comes hauling tooties in front of the fuel lanes close to 20-25mph easy. Spots a front row hole and swings it out to the right which is heading straight up a fuel lane(the wrong way)

Fuel lane occupied by F-450 and 35' 5th wheel camper that was fueling.
MASSIVE CRASH!! before any brake lights were seen(I'm 100' away looking right at it)
"Volvo" comes to rest after some radical shaking(picture wet dog)
Left door on Volvo swings open and driver hits the ground,Volvo starts rolling back wards.
As driver struggles to re'enter "Volvo" (didn't set brakes)my view is now from 85':biggrin_25524: and I clear the seat heading his way."Volvo" stops :biggrin_25514:

    HELL hath Cometh A LOOSE!!!

Woman "SCREAMING/CRYING,people filing in for a "LOOK"

I reach the front of the "Volvo" and the only thing intact were the FOG LIGHTS!! (which are still working):biggrin_25525:

F-450 was hit so hard the 5th wheel was ripped from the bed and pushed thru the back glass of the F450 crushing the back seat forward.:biggrin_25513:
In the back seat there were two "children's car seats" . . . . .:biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513:

    ~
Both "dogs" were killed instantly(they were trained to the car seats) by the
42"flat screen TV that came thru the nose of the camper and entered the truck thru the back glass area.

    Summery . . . . .
Driver handcuffed, woman flipped out and left by ambulance, truck towed, camper rig towed and just a bad day for all involved.

    :biggrin_25521:
    Yup had to snag a beer after that one . . . . .:biggrin_2559:
