Trying to remember ( soooo tired, we're in our second week of school).
They put a heart rate monitor on you and then ask you to perform various tasks.
After each task they ask you what your heart rate is.
You'll be tasked to squat down and pick up a milk crate containing 25lbs.
Then you'll do it again, but with another 25lbs added ( 50 lbs total).
You'll lift each (the 25 and the 50) three times.
Keep your back straight and you're golden.
You'll then lift the same milk crate with 25lbs on to a hip level shelf. ( X3)
Then they'll do the "add 25lbs" thing again. Also done 3 times.
Next is the same pattern ( 25-->50, X3) but lifted to an eye level shelf.
You'll then pick up a 50lb milk crate from a roughly hip level shelf and carry it in a circuit. Basically from the shelf , down to and around a little mini-pylon about 10 feet away and back to the shelf. You'll place the milk crate on the shelf and then do another circuit for a total of three trips.
Next you'll do it again but with 70 ( or was it 75lbs?) in the milk crate.
Then you'll "push/pull" 100lbs of force. All you really do is lean back ( for pull) and into/forward (for push) on this little hand held thing you'll place against a wall.
They will also ask you to bend over and (or at least try to ) touch your toes.
You'll then stand on one leg at a time and touch your nose.
You will also step up and back down the 2nd rung of a ladder about 5 times.
I'm 40 and haven't lifted anything heavier than a 20 ounce Mountain Dew in the last 20 years and I passed. We did have a 140lb kid have great difficulty with the "carry a 75lb milk crate" test. He did pass though, was quite impressive really.
You should be just fine. I would recommend you get your State's CDL handbook and start studying General Knowledge, Combination Vehicles and Air Brakes. They are not kidding about "accelerated pace" at all.

You are expected to pass the written tests to obtain your permit with one days study time
-
Also we have 9 in our class because one guy was only in our class for paperwork and then joins the 2nd weekers tomorrow to get his CDL. He went to a independent school for training. Back to studying
-
The few we did lose were for stupid reasons. Failing the wizz quiz and lying about felonies/ background. Everyone passed the written and so far it seems we're all doing OK learning to drive. Only time will tell though. -
Good luck Guys -
I should know tomorrow if im in or not. All has gone well on the phone but im still a little anxious to have it "set in stone" as my recruiter said. I was told I wouldnt need a passport? Does Central not drift across the north and south lines? Guess thats it for now, I just wanted to post on page #666 in the spirit of halloween haha! Talk at yall later, Watch them rumble strips fellas___Bryan.

Advice, go to the DMV of your state and pick up the manual for CDL and start reading. If anything something to study on the bus for many of you. Plan ahead than you don't have to worry about how much study time you get cause your prepared. I have been reading ever since I decided I wanted to obtain my CDL.
The Challenger Thanks this. -
For the person asking about the CB.
Duel does not really work any better than single on the antennas.
I just took one of the stock ones off, so there was no interference on the side I mounted on, and put a single on.
This way I used a quality cable and antenna combo, and could set my SWRs correctly.
Most good CB shops will tune your antenna for SWRs when they do an install.
Just run the cable out the front of the door, there is normally a gap in the door metal that gives you a place to do it that will not crimp the cable.
Then mount on the mirror bracket.
On the Prostars I am hearing that the windshields are leaking up top. Possibly due to not having a visor. If I have this issue when I get mine I will use silicone and fix it myself. I do not want my computer fried due to water.
And for the gentleman going to look at a W900.
CAN YOU READ????
DONT LEASE.
You will not listen though. You will lease it and in a few months I will see you crying on here about being broke.
Do not do it man. At least wait till the economy is good enough that you may get the miles to make the payments and eat before you go broke. -
Oh yeah.. I'm not doing it now.. Not the lease.. I want a general idea of what to expect and what happens if I just stone cold want out of the lease.. I have those questions.. Plus I wanna know if I can install straights on it or if I can't modify it. I may be from arkansas but I'm not that dumb.. I wanna know how central lease is compared to jcts..
I have a visor on my eagle.. My water leaks in through the top panneling.. When I say leak.m I mean a freak river runs down from my roof. -
Haven't leased of JCT so can't comment on there Lease, I do know after reading the JCT thread that they use Loose Leaf logs. So they can be as creative as they want.
