I've been on this forum many times over the past 6 months, so much information here, a great place to get all the answers. Anyway, I just retired from the Navy after 29 years and I quickly found out that there are just not too many jobs out there. Honestly, I always wanted to be a driver and I am prepared for the consequences. After 23 years of serving on Navy ships (I only had 6 years of "Shore Duty"), I'm already accustomed to living in cramped spaces, sharing puplic facilities and being gone away from home for extended periods of time. I tried to find employment in the civilian mariner sector but those jobs are scarce. I live just North of Millington (Memphis) so I will start my training with Swift on Monday. Gotta start somewhere... My brother is a driver an has been since '93. I'll try to maintain a positive attitude, looking forward to helping out when I can...
