I have to agree that his first comment was uncalled for but...

It's sad to say but he was in the right about not moving the trailer. IF, and notice I used a big if there. Something would have happened to that trailer he could have been held responsible for it regardless if he actually had anything to do with it or not. Or that company or one of their drivers could have called in a complaint about it. Either one of which could have cost him his job. I'm not saying that it's right but it is life sadly. IMO he should have said "hay lets find a driver for that company and have them move it and then I'll give you a jump". Its what I would have done anyway or for that matter if asked to move one of my companies trailers I would.

Mr Etch.........I go to my WIA appointment today to see if I can get approved for re-training due to job layoff. Have been looking at Roehl for a long time. Does Roehl still have 7on/7off at Garland? Website says 14/7. Thanks

They still run 7/7 in Texas, there just might not be a open seat. I know 2 guys that run it there and they share a truck. Just call and ask Roehl. The website tends to be outdated on openings

Does your truck have a post for jump starting under the hood? Many of the Freightshakers have a post under the hood up by the firewall usually capped with a red rubber cap. Don't look for a black post, the idea is that you ground to the frame. If this post is there just make sure your truck always faces out and you have a set of jumper cables and you are all set, it won't matter who is beside you.

    grc56_tn Thanks this.

While I agree with your assesment of the Roehl driver, and at the risk of sounding like a Richard Knoggin myself, I must ask a few questions! Were you hooked to a trl or bobtail where your battery died? If bobtail, why were there trls on either side of you? Were you taking a spot for a tractor AND trailer or were the trailers parked in a bobtail row?
The way I see it if you were bobtail in a tractor-trailer spot and there was no row for just tractors, then you kinda got what you deserved.

I am not a stupid driver I was parked in a tractor row. This is where all the Roehl tractors park. Sometimes there are empty spaces between the tractors. Over the weekend someone came into the yard and several non-Roehls trailers were put in all the open spot between our tractors. I had a U.S.A trailer on one side a CEVA on the other. I have never seen this occur in all my time at this yard. There is a fence line behind our tractors and a no way to approach from the rear. By the way I replaced the batteries yesterday because one went bad and they were a few years old..I gotta ask, have you ever seen our Garland yard are were you just assuming I was another stupid inconsiderate driver that would park where-ever I wanted and I created the problem.

the answer to your questions is no and no. I was merely asking the questions to clarify the scenario you described in the original post.

You are correct the Roehl driver you encountered is a first class jerk. But I had to know if you were partly responsible for creating the problem. It sounds like you were not! I apologize if I offeneded you.
It sounds like you have a regular SNAFU at that yard. We have all had that experience, it doesnt help when other drivers with no integrity (that means you do the right thing EVEN WHEN YOU KNOW NOBODY CAN SEE YOU!) do stupid, lazy things and make life hard for everyone else. Sounds like you get screwed by more than 1 driver at that yard. I hope it gets better for you.
