I would be getting it done, not having a DOT card is almost like being a felon

I have my medical examiners certificate from the clinic from taking my physical.. by reading the above post.. do i have to then take this to the DMV to get a card? It says I need to bring the card and long form to the school and I'm leaving Sunday night, so any help will be appreciated.. Thanks!

I have had my card expire while out. I just got it when I came in. I had my CDL run out one time. I just came in and renewed, but you live in CA. Probably warrants the death penalty...:biggrin_2559:

AS far as i know you dont need to take it to dmv but if im wrong someone let me know lol, you will need it at the school your going to or employer, your employer will want to keep the long form on file while you are working there.

We're not too far from you, only a few miles as a matter of fact, and when my hubby's expired while "out there", he simply had the physical and turned it in at DMV later.... it wasn't too much of an issue... but his was only a week late.

Heck, I had my medical card expired for years one time, I was not driving.
I still renewed my licence without it, and I have never lived in a state that I ever had to show it to the DMV, after I got my initial licence.
    That includes MD, FL, NY
Never showed it to them, and as long as I was not driving nobody cared that it was expired. Went 7 years without driving once, without a card. When I renewed I said I was driving, and the DMV renewed for me lol.
