I am based in Wyoming, and I’ve stopped in Texas. I have apportioned plates. I was wondering, if I bought a new truck and sold my current. What do I need to do in order to be legal to move loads across the interstates in this new truck. And how can I do this all the quickest way possible?

    i know I need to:
    switch over my plates
    Add to insurance
    Get ifta sticker
    Dot inspection
    Company stickers on truck

Want to clarify that I’m planning to buy the truck in Texas, and also curious if that will cause any headache

You should have 30 days to legally run to give you time to do all that as long as you have current insurance on the new truck I believe.

That’s what my insurance company told me when I bought a new truck. I never got pulled over during the 30 days of running with nothing on the door of my truck.

Recently had a truck stopped going into California at winterhaven POE
no company decals Dot number didn’t match carrier etc CHP required trip permit as we didn’t have the IFTA paperwork in the truck but didnt seem to be a big deal
