First truck and trailer I ever bought I flew to KC pickup truck, bobtailed to OKC to get trailer, loaded and drove back to Chicago. All with just a bill of sale. No questions asked, hindsight I would say I got lucky.

Keep in mind though we're doing this with an unregistered truck. We're essentially asking permission to run in their states illegally.... I guess, because it's illegal to operate a commercial vehicle without registration. (so I'm told) We've got to get it back to TX to register it.

Do it vampire.
-
I'll reiterate what a wise man once told me...........
It ain't illegal if you don't get caught..........
You get caught ...........play dumb
Scud Runner Thanks this. -
It's easier to get forgiveness than it is permission..
Scud Runner, Big Red and broncrider Thank this. -
Seriously.............
Whats the odds of getting pulled over if you are driving normally and the speed limit?
Go for it !!!!!!!!! -
they put a transport plate in the window when you leave. you are legal to drive it back
-
We trade at 4 yr and let someone else take the beating. Truck is out of warranty anyway.
-
Some are saying even with the paper plate or what have you we still have to get temp registration and fuel permit.
-
The least of my concerns would be getting pulled over. It's the chicken coups seem to take special interest in trucks with no plate, DOT number and no IFTA sticker. When I brought my truck home (70 miles or so) I had to go through a scale. I had to pull around back where I got a full inspection. Boy, THAT was fun.
On another note, TG & GR, make sure you log your trip up to get the truck. I'm told it's part of being "on duty" . Don't know how valid that is, but that's what a trooper told me.
