ok your loaded at shipper and you have adjusted trailer tandems and you think you are legal. Scale is 5 miles away and in route but there are no trk stops before scale to weigh the load. What are you legal options, besides going around scale or waiting for it to close?
If you go to scale and its open and you are over but had no way to verify weight after shipper is your butt in a sling or is there exceptions in these cases?![]()

This honestly depends on the scale you hit, the state you're in, and the officer running the scale. Some officers will ask to see the paperwork then might have you adjust your tandoms and reweigh, some might ticket you..just be courteous and hope for the best.

Guess it would help to put the location route 30 ILL east bound. I take 394 to get to shipper in Saulk Village, Ill.

Try calling the scalehouse and explain the situation. They may let you scale out. You may get an inspection, but its worth the trouble.

Or ask the shipper if there is a scale close by. Me, if there isn't, I'd not take a chance especially starting next year when CSA2010 goes into effect! I'd go around!

There's quarry in BFE Idaho.....Nearest Truck-stop is in Twin Falls 123 miles away.....
Life is full of choices -
Yup. go around the scales.......

Thats the WORST thing you could do(wheredopeoplecomeupwiththisstuff?)
THE THING TO DO is get a MAP and head to "Grandma's" then hit a CAT for a legal ticket then proceed to your consignee

Too much on the hip driver... pull out some more green stamps they pull back around...

And bypassing the scale is a good idea? I have seen DOT watch for this maneuver and hit the driver with not only a portable scale, but also a full inspect including log book.
