    Folks, Pulling a fuse and/or electrically frying the Qualcom would result in the company completely knowing waht you are doing or did do.

    Using my method for a fix(see previous post) would allow for total deniability. You could just say, I don't know what is wrong with your stinkin' Qualcom...

    Yes, but in addition to messaging doesn't the qualcomm track your every move? Don't they know exactly when you stopped and for how long? When they spend multiples of millions of dollars on a computer system, they should USE the dang thing. They know when you started your truck, they know exactly WHEN and WHERE you parked, and for HOW long. The computers don't lie. If you've been stationary for six hours after a 12 hour shift (say 10 hours of driving out of 12) they know darn good and well you can't repower SQUAT until you've had another 4 hours.

    Ok... For anyone who took my previous post serious--it's called satire. Do not hook your Qualcomm to 480 volts, don't spill McDonald's coffee in your lap, don't smoke while putting gas in your lawn mower... And it is highly advisable to take everything I say with a grain of salt (or two).

    I've never had quailcomm, so I can't honestly answer your questions. I was under the illusion that all that stuff was offered to the carriers & they can pick & choose which features they want to use & pay for!!!


    I do it all the time! As long as you don't make actual contact with the cigarette & gasoline, you'd be AOK!

    Why isnt there a setting on the qualcomm where a driver can silence the "beep" while sleeping, unless is is a "high priority" msg?
    The company has options when they send a msg to a truck to send it "low"or "high" or "emergency".
    Furthermore, the last thing I need to know about while I am sleeping in TN is the weather in WY!

    It is not the gasoline that burns, it is the vapors, so you need to be careful of that, especially if it is hot outside, the gasoline will produce more vapors.

    It is frustrating when they send a message to you asking where you are when that QComm does tell them exactly where you are but it's several mouse clicks for them to bring up your truck and then open the darn map frame up then figure out on the map where you are when it's all in text format on another screen! It's easier to wake your arse up and ask the question! that's just 1 mouse click then type in question and click send! LOLOL I wouldn't want the dispatcher to have to work him itty bitty fingers to much to the bone! ...oh i kill me! LOL

    When I hit the sack, the QC goes face-down on the drivers seat...can't hear a thing.

    The Qualcom I've used have a volume control on it. Find it and turn it down to its lowest setting. Most companies will have a emergency beep which is 3 or more rapid beeps. That can't be turned down.

    Mine has a volume control, but it controls the volume of the beep when I press a key. Every message, no matter what I set the volume at, comes thru LOUD and clear. I am also a very lite sleeper, and conditioned like one of Pavlov's dogs! I could wrap the qualcomm in duct tape, bury it at the bottom of my dirty laundry basket, put it in the closet and close the door! I will still wake up when the #### thing beeps!
