I suppose....if you wanted to teach ceramics, or be the curator of a museum, it might be useful.....

Sort of like truck driving studies, why would anyone want this profession, and long after I’m done, will there even be a need for someone to drive one off these things? Lol.

Pretty much every college/university offers noth undergraduate and masters programs. They are absolutely useless, but they want it in order to teach ceramics.
One of the ASU professors brought a class to my plant for a field trip and upon seeing one of her former students said "oh my God, an ASU ceramics graduate working somewhere other than Starbucks"

Ceramic engineering would be useful for a glass manufacturer including auto glass where advances have been made in layered glass for safety and glass that will shatter into small pieces rather than shards, again for safety. Would also be useful for a maker of optical glass, bakeware (think Pyrex and microwaveable vessels), tile, pottery, durable flat glass for smartphones and TV's, and a host of other technology.

A look on Corning Glass's website will show some of the specialty items they have developed, all thanks to ceramic engineers.

These programs are not ceramica engineering. they are a fine arts degree.

I misunderstood then. So a bit like a basket weaving program; not very useful for a good paying career and paying off student debt.
