I bought a Truck a while back 9 speed original converted it to a 13speed via lines and shifter head. After I split around and come up and push the red button forward it sticks won’t shift until you jerk the fuel pedal a little.
if I put it in neutral put the high low up and then flip the red button forward. You can’t hear the trans doing anything but as I type this I’m driving it around and getting it to half split up and down in some gears
Trans is a rtoc- 16909A
thoughts?
13 speed issue.

Doesn't the 9A require more parts? I thought the 9C was the model that was easily converted?
-
Nah it’s the 909a and 913a
-
Rtoc16909 once converted turn to an Rtlo16913a. Op was this transmission converted and was used as a 13 speed and stopped shifting or you had just or someone had just converted for you?
-
Rtlo16909 required a back half swap to convert to Rtlo16913a

It is a rtoc sorry didn’t see that I missed itLast edited: Dec 7, 2020

Silly thought... Have you checked airflow? IIRC, splitter doesn't get air until range shifts, is it possible that the interlock is bad or plumbed wrong?
Roger McG and BoxCarKidd Thank this. -
Edited the original post.
Just drove the truck around a little more playing with the shifter. I was able to get other gears to upshift and down but not after I go from lo to hi then pre select red button it lags I gotta jerk the fuelpedal a little eventually kicks in
sticking?Hammer166 Thanks this. -
All those parts just rode around with the splitter in direct while it was a 9 speed. Could be anything from build up on the shaft the splitter dog rides on, to the actuator piston not freely moving. Could be the air filter or regulator, too.
