Hi, I'm Stace. I've been a company team driver for six years and have been stopping by these boards off and on through most of them. Got a wild hair today and figured I'd finally join up at long last.

Mostly, I've used these boards in the past to research driver's opinions of companies I was considering working for. It's been of invaluable help in weeding out some prospects over the years, and making me look at some I hadn't considered.

I'm looking forward to hanging out here and exploring other areas of the boards.

    A bit about me --

I work for a very large privately held company and have been with them for about two and half years now. My partner, Hedon, and I travel with our little beagle, Maggie. In general, I like trucking. There's certainly plenty I would change about it, but I am still driving, so it must not be all bad.

Best thing about being on the road for me is the scenery, particularly out west. Gee, y'all haven't heard that about a million times, have ya?

That's the basics about me. Safe driving to all.

Well apparently we are supposed to drop by here, say hi and introduce ourselves. At least that's what Stace tells me. :biggrin_25519:

I'm Hedon. Stace's partner. Maggie's designated bringer-of-the-bacon. I've been a trucker for eight years now. The first two years I was a solo driver while Stace was still at home with our daughter. Then she started driving and we've been driving team for the past six years.

I wanted to be a trucker for the vast majority of my life. I remember in the mid-seventies sitting in the den every night talking on my dad's big base unit to the truckers rolling by on I-44. Man I couldn't wait to grow up and be able to hit the road too! A lot of life got in the way of that dream, but eventually Stace encouraged me to go to school and get out here... even though she didn't really want me to leave home so much. She's pretty awesome that way.

Life on the road as company drivers hasn't exactly been everything I imagined it would be, but I still like it loads better than anything else I've done. Now we are preparing to buy a truck and strike out on our own. Not sure exactly when this will take place, but hopefully in the spring so I am hanging out a lot over at the O/O boards and hopefully soaking up all their knowledge.

Well that's about it I suppose. Hope to see you all around. Be safe.

Welcome, Stace and Hedon! It's good to have you here. As you've found, there's plenty of good info on the boards, and most folks here are more than willing to offer advice.

So jump right in and join us!

    Hedon Thanks this.
