What is outlaw trucking?

A different term from the old days is "Gypsy Trucker". I always had the most respect for anyone who was successful as a true gypsy. They typically hauled exempt agricultural commodities with their own reefer. In addition to the challenges faced by all owner-operators, they bought and sold the produce they were hauling. They had to bargain with sellers and buyers of fresh produce to take their profit from the line haul. I think it is a lost art.

Another term from the old days is "hip pocket operator".

Lol Exactly right ten four,,, those where the Good Ole Dayz, we use to go out west & buy Trailer Load of Meet and Bring back to Tennessee, But set up in Grocery store parking lots and sell right out of the trailer on the Way back to Tenn. Hit a couple spots like that and whatever was left we brought home and sold to oud Local Community
