    I think what he is saying is that Stevens has tractors outfitted with chains in the area. That their sole requirement is a regional run. From one end to the other. Stevens will probably have drop yards on either ends. The driver will encounter the sign saying to chain up. The driver will contact Stevens, of whom will instruct the driver to the drop yard. The driver will drop the load and grab a load already there. The chained tractors will come and pull the load through.

    That seems like a tremendous waste of time , money and resources but to each their own. If it keeps them out of the ditch and the road open for the rest of us then by all means they can do what they want...

    In some way yes and no. Seems to me, two tractors should be all they need in the area. The chained tractors will spend a 14 hour clock runing back and forth in the one area. The downside is where they are in the 100 mile air rule. They will have that non stop. Then the question is, are the tractors staggered in time. So that when one driver is on their 10, is there another tractor still running? I would hope there is to avoid stagnation.

    Well gents the nannybox and the government have to come together and made a decision that i am fully rested and safe to drive . So off to the races we go. We are going to say a prayer before we lay our tires on i40. Safe travels . :thumbup:

    It's 150 nautical miles, and they wouldn't qualify for that anyway. The diffeence in intrastate and interstate is (in this case) determined by the freight, not the beginning/ending location of the power unit. Freight with an out of state origin, on the original trailer, would be considered interstate. For the freight to change to intrastate (and power be considered local for the extended day or no log) would require a receiving dock, trailer off loaded, then freight reworked with a new BOL from the new origin to final.
