So it's like 10:30 last night on i85 and I'm going through that disaster that they call a construction zone as you head north to Charlotte. It's like the last 30 miles in South Carolina on I85..
So there is one of those exit points for construction workers that exits to the center area between north & south i85 and it said something like "truck exit". Obviously meaning dump truck exit for the construction guys.
I keep going bouncing over all the bumps I see flashing lights ahead of me and it's clearly a semi but it appears to be on the other side of the barricades. As I pass it's some dude hauling a Amazon Prime trailer and he's on the other side of the construction wall with his hazards on and looked like he was stuck.
There was just the one construction exit and I swear it was 2 to 3 miles back.. That dude must have exited for some stupid reason into the construction area at night and then tried to drive down the construction road to get out...
That dude 100% F-ed up and I can't even imagine how he thought the best idea was to just keep going at night time through the construction area in hopes of getting out.. lol
Anyway I bet that Amazon load was late... lol
Saw the funniest F-up I've ever seen last night

Amazon Prime trailer?
It was probably due to a lack of sleep and not enough time on the load.Trucker61016, alds, bentstrider83 and 2 others Thank this. -
That work zone is absolutely terrible and at their work pace might be completed by 2050. Trucks are supposed to use the left lane but most don’t and it’s hardly ever enforced. Seems to be nearly a truck accident a day somewhere in that zone. He’s probably just a knucklehead but I wouldn’t be surprised if something else landed him on the other side of that wall

should just go 85n to 26 to 74 to 85n. 34 extra miles. but worth it

Amazon, with it's independent contractor hiring practices has some how managed to put a fleet of the worse drivers I have ever seen in my life on the highways.Trucker61016, magoo68, ncmickey and 12 others Thank this. -
If the rates are as bad as you all say they are.
That's probably a clue right there of not so intelligent drivers.Trucker61016 and Michael H Thank this. -
There are tons of Amazon drivers who don't speak good English and have very little driving experience. I see them every day speeding, getting pulled over and tailgating other trucks. Last week I had a green light at the Dunsmuir POE on I-5 entering California from Oregon. As I was approaching the turn off for the scales, an Amazon white Volvo was passing me in the hammer lane at about 75mph, then cuts across and goes into the POE.

I know the post was about not understanding the sign, hence the screw-up. But I can't help but be amused at the fact it was an Amazon truck. How many times have I ranted against Amazon trucks in my previous posts? Used to be a requirement to "fluently read, write, and understand" English. No standards=this type of stupidity on the road.
Or, maybe Amazon is delivering construction materials now. Why not? They deliver pretty much anything else...except women. I guess that is where they draw the line...Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
Here’s one I saw a week ago.
Driver missed the weigh station, tried to do a U, and got stuck.
