once you are that far in ... spring for new bearings and wheel seals all the way around
-
If you're taking slacks off, and the outer ends.. you might as well go for s-cams and bushings as well.
black_dog106 Thanks this. -
Use the preloaded hubs, bearings, races, seals pre I stay, just slide on , torque down, add oil thru the plug provided.
Might as well use new brake drums, $120 each.supergreatguy Thanks this. -
If they're drive axles, use whatever oil is in the diff. When done, make sure diff is full, jack up each wheel 1 at a time several inches and let the oil run from the diff into the hubs. Once all drive wheels are done, recheck the diff oil levels.
May be a good idea to drain and refill the diffs while you're at it since the diffs and their hubs are all common oil. No sense running new bearings in old oil.Swine hauler and supergreatguy Thank this. -
I would consider a good rim job while you’re at it. That’s the last thing you do before going back on the road.
Gives that extra bit of pep in the step.Last edited: Dec 17, 2020
