Exactly. I don't mind running jersey at all. Get to my stop around 6:30 to beat the traffic and take a 3hr nap. They don't start unloading til 830 anyways and I'm out by 930-10 most days. Either bounce back home and grab another load going down or book a load coming back out of jersey

Any city w a warehouse that still uses small wood and any produce field waiting at a packing or ice house.

Because you can get in, but getting out is a nightmare most of the time.

Been to Key West 3 times in a truck. Once in a reefer, twice in a carhauler. Cool to do once to see it. After that it's just a pain.

Atlanta, Dallas/Houston, New Jersey & Nashville.

I'm biased towards Atlanta since I have it as a local route now. Always +1 hour construction. ALWAYS a ####ing accident causing huge delays. Every. Single.Day. Doing OTR feels like a dream job compared to dealing with atlanta crap daily. I understand why local guys are always angry.

Go for it. You'll be hauling sailboat fuel all the way back.

SoCal wasn't so bad. I mean, I lived in the HD for a good chunk of my life and as long as one was either in or out of there in a short amount of time, or had a yard to park the truck at, it was good. Of course this thread seems to be aimed at OTR's who have no connection whatsoever to any given area. So I'd day unless you're in some podunk between the Rockies and the Mississippi, anywhere west or east of those zones is pretty much a nightmare for the OTR ilk.

Yeah, like many, I got out of it as soon as I could. But if you don't have that option, all I got to say is do a little homework on the areas you're going to and get as much info as you can before going in. There's still going to be surprises, but any calming of the nerves is better than none at all.

I used to work for a sheetrock plant in Richmond. Would stop a a bar at 21st and Cutting every Wednesday evening to cash my paycheck and tip a few. Wouldn't try that today.

I’d want to do it once, just so I can say I’ve been to the end of Rt 1.
