a search of a truck is like any other search , they have to have probabel cause such as an arrest if you are placed under arrest for any reason they can and usally do searh your truck, its called an inventory searh simply because they have to assume responsibilty for the truck and its contents.

Believe me, if the DOT wants to search your truck, they WILL search your truck. Go ahead and refuse or holler all you want about your rights, ( i did it ONCE), they WILL search your truck.
If DOT does a search, they will find it and your arse will be grass. I've had my truck DOT searched several times over the years and those people are very thorough (had to throw out lunch meat because they looked between every slice).
That's what always made me paranoid when I was a company driver, worrying about what the previous driver may have hidden that was not found when the truck was assigned to me.Last edited: Oct 24, 2009

obviously you don't know me. I do have my license and carry every day. obviously, you didn't do everything you could because you DID end up using your gun - you just didn't shoot any body. were you meeting the guy in a dark alley to buy hot merchandise? not sure about TX, but our class taught that you can't take the gun out or point it at any one. you only take it out if you have to shoot. from your story you had a justifiable reason to shoot - someone threatening to stab you. I would agree that the purpose of a gun is to stop a threat. obviously you accomplished that without having to fire. that's great. BUT, what if he had called the police and said "I went to sell someone tickets and he pulled a gun and tried to rob me. here's a description of him and his vehicle." then they would've chased you down and arrested you for armed robbery. there's a story on here somewhere of a driver losing $2,000 in court for pointing a gun at a gangbanger. -
been watching this one for awhile now I DO AND ALWAYS WILL CARRY . I have a .38 special revolver in the sleeper and i carry a SIG P229 .40 ON MY PERSON everywhere i go wal-mart, flyinJ to take a shower its always on me .I will be buried with this . i wear it at home to church whever i go it goes ALOT OF PEOPLE SAY I AM PARANOID . I respond not paranoid but PREPARED i train 2-3 times a week with it at home or on the road . I have pulled it twice since i started in 1998 but have never needed to fire it . I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO DO SO THOUGH IF I FEEL THE NEED

here it is.....this is what pointing a gun at someone can cost you....
-
In this day and times we all need to carry with everything going south ...If all americans carried they would be alot less crimes today and more respect for eachother
-
Care to see my point? Go into any Wal-Mart any given day, and watch how many brat little kids throw a tantrum because mommy spends 20 minutes explaining how she isnt going to buy him that Hot Wheel's car.
i carry a paintball marker in my truck, and a bat and my golf clubs....thats enough for me. -
I see your point on this but stop and think for a min can that paintball marker, bat, and golf clubs stop a bullet ? And yes i agree if parents would do better it would not call for any of this but you and I know thats not going to happen since you willl go to jail if you do anything to the youngens today...I hope that the day never comes I would have to use it but I dont want to be caught off gaurd either
-
i see your point, but how can you fire a weapon when you're unconcious? bat to the head or a 7 iron to the temple or jaw is pretty effective. you pull a gun on me you better use it. i think all the wanna be gang bangers are just that...wannabes...no coconuts -
A dry chemical fire extiguisher shot to the face will incapacitate anyone. Legal to have, too.
