Grabbed my last flatbed load of the year.... granted it was my own stuff, added items to make me money in 2021.

I thought I was bidding on 2 when at Richie brothers - get to the site to pick it up and they give me 8..... have to sell 3 now hahahah


On a side note, merry Xmas y’all, I’m stuck out here till the 28th.

 

What are those used for?

 

Ok . It is like pulling teeth to get the shipper to supply the dunnage half the time. I cant imagine one being nice enough to supply extra blocking. Seems most places are so #### cheap anymore , everybody is cutting corners

I always carried a cheap "big box store" handsaw and a couple 2X4 dunnage pieces that I could cut up quickly if necessary. I always hoarded extra dunnage, storing it between the frame-rails and or dolly leg braces. I even went as far as cutting a piece of 1.5"X1.5" angle iron to clamp in between the frame-rails to hold one end of my dunnage stash.

 

pipe racks for on a flatbed. notice most have a grab-hook welded high up to "A-chain at least 1 for each load of pipe to help anchor the racks from sliding on the deck. the ones I have used also had pockets welded on so that you could drop an inverted pipe-peg down and through a pocket in the trailer to stop movement too. Ours were built from channel instead of box iron to save weight but we were paid by weight and had combo trailers
