ahahaah, no fist one is pulling rest.
this is prototype of this clutch from 2007 i think.

to do real thing you need to lift 2nd axle and have trailer gooseneck that can bring extra weight

problem is if you run out of medicals.
i saw some messages on groups that some drivers run out of pills and they were searching if someone has.

pills i am using take 6 months to stop using them, you cant just cut them, probably same with most pills.
in 4,5years i once did miss 1/4 of dose (did not had enough) and once forget to take them by 8h, in both cases resulted with serious problems

Rheinmetall was probably the top briber;)

I think the specification of the tender didn't match what Volvo or Scania offers.
I think all the trucks have WSK which neither Volvo or Scania can offer.
I imagine that MAN and Mercedes has a much stronger market position when it comes to trucks with 6x6 / 8x8, WSK/turbo clutch trucks. The army wants "standard" trucks now. In the past they always ordered special trucks from Volvo and Scania.

I think 6x6 is fantastic in the winter specially with a crane behind the cab so you always have 9-10 tons on the front axle. Much better than tandem.

do they have hx or only tgs?
as for WSK, scania had it until Euro5 on previous series with manual 16speed, i have no idea if they still make it on Nextgen E5 for export.
But if army needs like 40-50 trucks they probably make it, try to remember in 1986 norweigan army bought 2700 scania trucks, they had 64x crew cab 142/143 6x6 + torque converter. they had 92/93M with axles from SBA111, P113 8x6 with pusher axle also developed specially for them.
israel army has fh16 6x4 + xtrack with wsk.
now german army bought 40x scania 8x6 tractors with air rear suspension, this model is specially developed for them.
as for mb vs man. mb has twice more developing engineers and lot more testing which result in higher price. man basically offer 8x4/4 and this 6x6 for export, anything beyond that is special conversion.
Mb has 6x4 air and spring, 6x6, 8x4/4 air and spring, 8x6 2+2axle for france, 8x6/4 and 8x8.

as for 6x6 and winter, yes best would be to have one or two extra axle that can be lifted.

there is now scania 6x6 with two extra axles in CH, imagine this load on 3driven axles

I think they have ordered both HX and TGS.

I know of some guys in Norway that have MAN 8x4-6 with hydro drive and 80 tonne-meter cranes and they say the trucks are like mountain goats in the winter.
One of my friends used to have a couple of Scania 8x2-6 trucks in his trucking company with big cranes and they were hopeless in the winter.

    98989 Thanks this.

of course they have axle on right spot.
scania make 8x4*6. (4x4 + added second axle and tag steered axle, in meantime base for this is 6x4*4- 4x4+tag, since this become very common, so they now take this as base)

Do you know why you can not get Mercedes or MAN 8x6 trucks with the second axle driven?
8x6 always seems to be frist axle driven.
