When I 69 opened up in south west Indiana, the people working in the fields next to the highwayy waved..

 

I liked XHeavy, we were about the same age and both originally from Maryland. Sure, he never wrote a sentence when several paragraphs got the job done, and maybe he exaggerated his experiences a tiny bit, but he was a friendly guy and I occasionally mined some decent stuff out of the mountain of verbiage.

As for scorning western wear, who am I to judge? Personal taste is... personal. As already mentioned, at least they aren’t slobs in sweats!

I wore boots for years, but these days I wear boat shoes, because I’m bone lazy and like having shoes I can slip on and off easily when I want to take a nap. For the same reason (a desire to minimize effort), I wear polo shirts with a pocket for my pen and reading glasses. Denims or khaki pants for comfort (khakis are particularly good in wet weather, they dry much much faster). And cowboy hats are seriously good for outdoors, but I find them to be overkill in a truck. I prefer a nice flat cap, a nod to my Irish bloodline.

Well its must get rather lonely on those hot / cold prairie nights I guess a trucks stop is a good a place as any to find a bit of company huh?
