That's not 100% true. IF, and I do mean if, a driver falsifies anything on their application, such as omitting an accident or has failed to disclose a criminal background issue, they will send you home, at THEIR expense.
But, as a general rule, they have made all but the deepest inquiries by the time you are extended the invitation to attend orientation. The most recent three years, will be checked during orientation, mainly to make sure you have ended your most recent job completely.
Crete is a stickler for details. They will work with any driver, if the issue is not severe, as long as it is disclosed up front. The application you fill out on the first day of orientation is the last chance you will be given to 'fess up about anything previously not discussed.

Crete almost sounds too good to be true. Of all the drivers I've driven in my cab and the comments I've read in this forum, I only have only heard one complaint about them. It was more personal than anything. My doubt is how realistic is it to get or expect a trucking job just out of school with a good firm such as Crete. I had a small accident the other day that will probably show up on my MVR, but that's going to be the only mark against me. Talking to a guy in the Crete office today (and a few others), I've heard that I shouldn't lose sleep over it. No injuries were involved, no tickets were given, and the damage was cited on the accident report as $100 total. It was only a cracked, plastic grill over the radiator. Should I take everyone's advice and not worry about it? Should I start lower than Crete or not drive at all? Believe me you, though, I've learned my lesson.

Any experiences with Crete's flatbed division, Hunt? I'm high on their waiting list and it's going to be around two weeks before I get the call at the earliest. I've decided to wait at least that long instead of settling elsewhere under the assumption that the fact that they have a waiting list - I applied over a month ago - shows low turnover and is a good sign.

Yes, but Crete doesn't do the RR or swap out loads. Here, you can actually deliver the load that you load; even if it goes 2000 miles away. You can purchase an inverter from Crete and they will install it. But it's not cheap. Yes, that's a downfall, but heck, I've been here 1.5 yrs and I'm at .45cpm. Do the math, I work less for more $$. -
Ive been here 4 years and i didnt know that.If you buy inverter from they will install.Big D what size can you get?

according to my paper work minimum qualifications for Crete are:
no less then 22 yrs of age.
, 1 yr. OTR exp. or come from a PTDI credited school,
Stable work history,
NO DUI OR DWI convictions or POSITIVE DRUG SCREENS or EVENTS in the past five years and NO FELONY Conviction within last 10 years.,
Have an acceptable driving record as reflected by MVR.,
No major "preventable accident" in the past five (5) years
A valid class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
Meet DOT requirments and be able to pass DOT physicla and drug screen tests. which are paid for by the company.
Be able to perfom functions described in job description.
If you can pass all of this then you will have absolutely no problems.
And this will be a slight blemish on your MVR but it will not hurt you for being hired with Crete. I called and asked personally :0)
Good Luck
