    OR permit good for 1 year You will get to keep it even after being issued your CDL.

    go to crst.com and take all the practise tests. Have your permit before you go to school but make sure they don't make you sit through the classroom stuff BORING!!!!

    Start hands on as soon as you can... DRive alot and always volunteer for the extra or new skills stuff... Learn as much as you can

    Yes, my school guide-book says to read just certain parts for each different license you need to get. I just started at the first of the manual because I wanted to be sure and get all I need for the test. I won't have an opportunity to start school until after the 1st of the new year so I will probably get my permit before that. Only if all else falls into place though. I don't want to get a permit if I am going to fail their DOT etc.

    Thank you much for the info though, it reminds me to check and see how long the permit in Oregon is good for. Still pretty sure it's one year though also.
