Hello there, Studebaker Hawk. I've always had a special affinity for truck stops, and my dad was a feeder driver for UPS for 33 years. You and Navypoppop are two of my favorite posters. I made contact with him, so now I'm happy to see you've posted here as well. What is your favorite old truck stop? Mine was 40 Acre in Lakeland, Florida. My uncle took me there in the late 90's, when I was just a teenager. All gone now, of course.

There is a new TA in Lake City and another on I-84 about to open in Idaho. The Lake City one has brick oven fired pizza and the Idaho location will have a bar & grill called Hunting Tons.
Dale thompson and Scoot 1971 Thank this. -
The one in Lake City ,Fl. They just bought that independant operation and it's a real winner. Exit 414 on I 75. If you're in the area, I highly recommend you check it out.

I used to like that Napoleon one good store and the grab and go counter wasn't too bad either.
Now the pilot across the street would have their fuel line backed into the street. -
The petro has good grab and go deli their. It's one of those independent Petro. Not sure how the Fuel Mart will do with new love's their. Even the Petro is a little odd with two very small bathrooms. I don't think anyone will pay to park at the Petro with loves access the street.

Never paid to park at in Napoleon Oh although it's been some years since I last stopped there.

Do you have a strong desire to learn more about them? I know a few economists that can make some accurate guesses

Flying J's independent restaurants had a great Cajun shrimp (or chicken) Alfredo on the menu. It's what I missed most when they closed them. You'd get crappy garlic bread with it but if you dipped it in the leftover sauce it was excellent.
I just recreated it the other day but I missed the target with the garlic bread. I made it too good. Next time I make garlic bread I'll use less garlic.
Now if I could figure out how they did that steak tenderloin they had at the buffet, I'll be happy.
Blue jeans, bentstrider83 and Uncle Birchy Thank this. -
I’d trust a market trader’s opinion way before an economist. At least they have experience having skin in the game and their opinions have real consequences.
TA’s stock price was $16 a year ago, before COVID hit. I challenge any rational explanation for why, after taking on all this debt, this stock should be worth $30.47 now. Same management, same strategy, more debt. Make no mistake they are going under.
