Driver layoffs coming

Wouldn’t surprise me if they laid off all of you who have been around a while and getting paid more. Then replace you with new drivers at a lower rate.

 

I hate to say it but you’re going to see some, “evil“ stuff come out of trucking companies over the next year or so. There are a lot of companies out there that are already struggling to keep their doors open. and it’s not getting better before it gets a lot worse. They will eat their own to try and stay alive.

 

Yeah I just got a message today involving my in cab camera. So in the middle of all this they're back to spying on me.

I can DO the job, but it's a rough life, and in 10 years the pay hasn't set my loins on fire. With things getting worse, a big inflation hit around the corner (or total anarchy & societal collapse) the last thing I think I can stomach is micromanagement. I'll walk.

 

I'm toast then.

I wonder what happened that caused the contract to be rescinded.

 

Same thing that always happens. Someone else underbid them.
The jobs aren't going away, they are just going to be done by a different company and unfortunately, likely for less pay.

 

Either that or something else happened (too many late deliveries/no shows,trailer issues).

 

Or the boss’s daughter’s cousin’s nephew’s roommate’s boyfriend, (that got the job STRICTLY on merit.) was hobnobbing with the client at a golf club and spilled his drink on the client’s new Loubitons. (Or however they’re spelled).
