I retired after 40 years. I have seen professionals, steering wheel holders, people that should not be allowed to drive anything, including cars.
Trucking companies went with auto transmission so they could hire people that could not drive a manual. There are drivers today that can stay in their own lane on the interstate, but can’t park a rig in a truck stop, forward or backing into a space. Jackknifing into a dock is impossible for these same individuals. These are your non professionals——— steering wheel holders.Tonythetruckerdude and TheLoadOut Thank this. -

Just someone punching a clock for a paycheck....couldnt care less about being a professional in the industry.....other words, not their career path.

Someone who only knows how to drive the truck and that’s the extent of their knowledge or ability.

Your CDL is not your right it is a privilege
Safety is everyone's responsibility but it has been assigned to you
Understand the spectrum from Commercial Driver to Professional Driver
A truck is a machine without brain your CDL is your privilege to be its brain
Do not let the machine ride you, you ride it
Do not test your limitations and certainly not the machine's
If you think safety is expensive, still do not try an accident
Ultimate safety is zero productivity - a catch 22
