I really can't say that I blame him. Seems like every time the guy would post he'd get flamed big time. Sad thing is, he was just posting in all honesty what he's been up to, both good and bad episodes. I admire that.... I don't think I could all the bad stuff he has posted like that. He's been pretty honest in blogging his journey in the hopes of helping others like him or soon to be like him out on the road.

So we take the truck to be inspected (gotta have a TX state inspection), passes it's all good. Then we gotta go to the Tax Assessor's to start the registration process. Apparently they don't do this kind of stuff very often. They kinda get a glazed look in their eyes when you say "apportioned plate". Well they won't accept the state inspection form. Since it came from out of state they have to have an Out of State inspection form.Does it need another inspection you ask..... no just a different form. The lady calls the shop that did our inspection to see if they would fax it. Nope. It cost $1.00 for the form and they want their dollar before they give up the form.... back to the shop.
Then back to the Tax Assessor's. Got our registration form, not actually registered yet. Gotta go to Odessa for that. Head to Odessa to go to TXDOT. They are open til 5pm, we roll through the door at 4:05pm. Whew... we made it. Nope. They don't process applications after 4pm.
We have everything filled out but nothing will actually be processed til Monday. Then it's back to the TXDOT in Odessa then to the state Comptroller's office for IFTA then to the IRS for 2290.
On a brighter note.... our dispute period ended this morning and Washington DC must be on the ball because it rolled over and activated us this morning. Woohoo we didn't have to wait the 3-6 days.... lolrookietrucker, The Challenger and Gears Thank this. -
I do not think I have ever heard someone doing something like this and everything going smooth no matter how much work and planning was done in advance.
Good luck though, I know it will work out soon and be worth all the trouble!
