They will only hire new drivers that go through their school. From what I understand they hire pretty much anywhere but Fla. I don't think anyone hires from there.....lolol

We should bump into each other sooner or later lol I'll have on glasses, a denim ball cap, jeans and a button front shirt. Really looking forward to this! Used to play trucker by sitting on a stool and shifting my broken broomstick gearshift lol
Yes, that was when I was a kid!

GL to you to! Hope to see ya at a choke and puke someday! Do you active drivers call truckstops that or am I dating myself here?
I usually only post a question or responses to my questions or such. I'm not much of a post-head, lol. But that's a good idea though!

They will only take new students or people that haven't driven in I think its 7-10 years. Had somebody in my class that use to drive but that was 12 years ago. If they do take u u would go thru their school and all that mumbo jumbo then go out with a trainer for 28 days. If u don't have 14500 miles on the truck by the end of the 28 days u will have to go out till u get them then come back and take the upgrade test.

Well I'm stuck neer arora at a I55 truck stop on my 34. My friend thay works for covenant says he was stuck in wyoming for 21/2 days cause of the recent storm. Anybody else get stuck in it?

Haven't heard from 6Pak, Lextec, and mama. They must be running pritty hard not being able to keep us informed.

Done with school, just waiting on my trainer he was in Denver snowed in.
So it looks like my 28 days will turn into at least 32 with the 5 days lost to weather, that is if everything else goes smooth.......but this is trucking so I'm sure we'll be out longer. Future students all I can say is the school was very fast and the instructors are very good the rest is up to you, But when they say you go out for 28 days and 14500 miles they mean working days, If the weather or a breakdown happens you sit until you can run again and it DON'T go towards your 28, if your trainer takes some home time and lives in Phoenix and you live in ST Louis, you sit at a truckstop in Poenix while the trainer is at home and your 28 days stops. So you can really be out training for 28-40 days depending on variables, so figure on being gone for 2 1/2 weeks for school and 4-6 more weeks for On the road training. I hope this helps someone looking to go to central, I don't want anyone to be as surprised as I was, especially when your sales woman or man AKA recruiter says if you start by the 12th of Oct we will have you home for Thanksgiving with your family.......not even because if everything went right you still have a day to two for a upgrade and then you have to wait till they find you a truck and who knows how long that will take, you may fly out to Alabama to pick it up and you live in CA. I hope this helps, so far other then the few surprises, Central seem like a pretty good company. We will try to keep you update if that changes and why, it may be just me and I may or may not be cut out for this! I can drive just not sure I can be away from my wife and kids for 5-8 weeks.

Not any more, only if you are "grandfathered" in. Which allows for a bit of a grey area I suppose. But, short answer-No. On that point, I really hope that when I finally get a truck it wasnt a chain smoking dog owners truck first.
