CFI Driver's What's Your 20? (2017 edition)

I think you could see a increase in team lane like when we where Conway if you rember when we took over the tractor supply account that was ups deal its crazy on how far we have cam as a team

 

If I live in Texas, where would i go for orientation or would i do it online like some of the other companies have went too.

 

There's a chance you would go to our terminal in Wilmer (Dallas) TX or they might would send you to our main terminal in Joplin Mo. That i know of we don't do orientation online.

 

Wife and I live in Texas, 6 hours from Dallas and they sent us to Joplin for our very first orientation. Then when we got rehired they sent us to the Dallas terminal. If you have experience in trucking they will most likely send you to Dallas as well

 

Yep, been running otr since '88. Close to 3.5 million safe miles. Just had a bad experience with a company I've worked for before an had no problems with, but this go round was different. An not even sure if cfi will hire me. Son had his third heart attack while my truck was being serviced at the companies shop so I went home on personal time in my personal vehicle. Doctors did a double bypass on him. He lived another week an passed. Doctors said his heart was already to weak from the two previous heart attacks. I stayed home for a total of 5 weeks for his funeral and reading of his well etc. Called in once/twice a week to keep my dispatcher informed. Got ready to go back to work called in on a Wednesday to tell them I'd be back in Oklahoma City on Sunday to get ready for dispatch on Monday morning. They told me I had been terminated. No explanation as to why or when. Will give them a call an see what happens, but any information would be greatly appreciated.

 

Sorry about your loss, I can't even begin to imagine your pain.

But I don't see why they wouldn't. First time my wife and I left we had our truck on home time in amarillo, and they had to come recover it when we told them we quit. And they still took me back a year later when we came back. Might be different because we are a team (they bend over backwards for teams). But it's worth a shot!

 

do cfi trucks have some sort of eye detection system in them? I watch youtube videos of a guy that runs for them, and his truck seems to have monitors by the doors, and one in the middle lower portion of the windshield

it appeared to be a camera and then either a lane detection type system, or something that monitors if you're keeping your eyes on the road or not. I haven't seen them before

 

They definitely have lane departure and forward collision sensors.
