Does anyone have any information on Sherwood Foods Distributors, specifically their Cincinatti Division?
Would also request any info on (MTI) Midwest Transport Inc. located out of Robinson, Illinois?
Thanks,
Jerry

Midwest is a mail hauler, doing a lot of longer mail runs from the midwest, primarily towards the east, though they also may have some work going west as well. I didn't realize they were out of Robinson, though I know they have a terminal just off of !-70 at exit 119, which is (I think) Greenup Il, which is about 30 miles from Robinson. Mostly Freightliners, usually 48 and 53 foot vans. If they are on mail contracts, they should be paying an hourly rate, probably in the 16-18 dollars per hour range. They may also have hauls that are not postal runs

Burky,
Thanks for the reply, do you know whether or not they are a good company to work for?
I did a search on the forum & didn't return anything. -
I don;t know any of their drivers personally, and haven't spoken to any of them, so I can;t offer any info there. In general, most mail companies are not too bad of a place to work. The runs can be a little bit monotonous, running from same place to same place daily, but that provides a fairly stable life and allows you to plan ahead somewhat. I looked into our local mail carrier here in SWMI before taking my present job, and it was worth considering. It's sort of like unionized work without the union, in many ways. They have some specific work rules they have to comply with under the contracts, and that seems to work toward, rather than against the drivers interests.

From what I've read online working for some OTR's. A mail run and getting an hourly pay is not bad. Atleast the hourly rate is a constant. Whats .33 cpm and you don't get the mileage? .33 cpm and they run you as a team? So what it can get monotmous. So what you don't get to see the country. What matters is a job that pays you so you can pay the bills and help your family. That's what really counts. A real hero is a working man. Think about it.
