I get one year weekly gross average for vacation pay. Usually the same as a Christmas bonus too

The vacation pay is so complicated. But, it's comparable to what I make.
So last year's gross pay is divided by 52 weeks. Then, they take that number and divide it by 45 hours a week. This way, I can take as little as an hour of vacation to as much as 9 hours a day based on a per hour pay basis.

There are some companies rather like that here as well.
IKEA is one, where my sister works.
A Swedish company.
She has to take extra personal+ time off just because she will lose it next year, which is several weeks per year.
They are also very generous with the vacation time.
The problem here is, I think, that the companies keep such a short staff that they can not do without people for that long each year.
In the interest of the almighty buck (dollar... money) they keep as few people as possible, working as hard as possible, just to get the job done in a mundane fashion. -
