Congrats on the upgrade. The biscuits were GREAT!! Don't know how Jess is going to make anymore tho with her being on the road.
Boston. Just what I feared it would be like. Place I'm delievering to looks like its right by the bay. Bout the only thing in this area is the fish market and some meat houses. Oh and a building for the Boy Scouts Toys for Tots drive. YIKES. That means its time to start thinking about getting gifts for the kids. Brothers, that is. -
Do any of you that have gone through the Central Truck Driving School think that the 4 weeks is too short of time to be out on your own? Or do you find that in 4 weeks you can learn what you need to in order to be a successful, safe solo truck driver.
Thanks in Advance for your opinions! -
I will be home for 4 days in early December and I intend to make a few big batches and since they keep so well in a container I will keep some for ya Bootlegger.
Boston is NOT fun either is NY City!!
I can probably whip up a batch of Bickies in the truck since I have a toaster oven and Microwave and I have all the ingredients except the flour in the truck might give em a try this week and then I would have fresh ones all the time
Yea JJ asked the DOT lady at Wyo the other night about guns and she nope is a biggggggggggg no no.
We will be in Omaha NE tonight if anyone is around. -
Congratulations Bootlegger

It depends on the student and trainer.
Good trainer will make it easy to learn in the 4wks. Even after a year I still call my trainer with odd questions. Sometimes he knows the answer others he is like never saw that before..lol
I still learn things all the time.
No way did I know it all when I just upgraded. It gave me the tools though to do the job. Backing, trip planning, macros and so on
At least 12 from my class still drive for central(22upgraded started with over 60). Odd class as its usually only a couple left at this point if that. I asked a couple the question right after we went solo. Most were like it could of been longer but it wouldnt of made a difference.
You see so many drivers that cant back. Its a wonder how they ever get to a dock to load and unload.
Hope it helps???JimTheHut Thanks this. -

Central is an OK starter company!!
JJ is a 18 months into his Lease and its Ok if you train or Team.
We were planning on changing over to National Carriers in March 2010 as there Lease isn't as hard on the pocket as Centrals.
Central have changed in the last six months and none of the changes benefit the driver, but as a new driver coming in you won't have had the on-time delivery bonus and the $40.00 a day they used to pay for every day you were out past your hometime. The Challenger Thanks this.
