First I got to admit I was wrong both on my clock and about my disdain for Indiana dot. Was always thinking that all dot (especially IN} wanted nothing but our dollars.
My company just installed this samsara tablet thing in my truck and I still have not gotten it completely figured out yet along with the new hos rules. The day before I was reading that the 14 hour clock could be paused by simply taking two hours off then either finishing with at least 7 hours or doing a 10 to reset everything.
I think now that you have to be using sleeper berth for second part of the ten hour break, is that right?
The tablet said I was fine at the time but the next day after transmitting the logs the trooper comes out after about 20 minutes of studying them and shows me that I was in violation. Even the tablet in my truck now said I was in violation for that day, though at the time it said I was fine.
Trooper said to be careful next time and passed me after explaining what I may have done wrong.
DOT let me pass a level 3 inspection even with a logbook violation from the day before!
