This is an informational post for those who are not aware of what Starlink is. Elon Musk has several companies (Tesla and SpaceX) being the most well-known. But he is also creating a new satellite internet service to bring low-cost, high-speed internet to all of the far -reaches of the planet.
He has launched over 900 Starlink satellites so far and the system is starting to work in beta test in some areas. He has said that he is going to bring the service first to those who live in remote parts of the country because they need high-speed internet more urgently than those who already have other choices.
I would imagine that this may be a game-changer for OTR drivers in a few years if they do not need to worry about high-cost cellular internet and all of the limitations that come with it.
HOWEVER - at the time that I write this post Starlink is in closed beta test mode and anyone can sign up to try it (as long as you live in an area that benefits their tests.) I signed up for the beta test on their site about six months ago and I got a response this morning saying that it is now available for beta testers in my area.
So, what I am saying is that if you want to put your name in for possible early testing of this thing, then you can sign up at Starlink. Especially for those of you who live in areas without high-speed internet - this may be something that could help you.

About 100 a month. Idk about hauling around that satellite everywhere though. I saw someone set theirs up. The tripod is collapsible but the actual dish is about the size of a satellite TV dish. But idk I'll prob still get it
