So, what's with this "Squire" deal with Knight? I've seen a "Squire" truck, obviously affilliated with Knight. What does Knight care if trainees are driving a Knight truck or a Squire truck?

I have not gotten that far as of yet but I talked with several Central drivers and from what I have gatheres it is a 1 year commitment and the drivers portion is 1200 spread over the yaers time, as long as the commitment is met it is just the 1200. If the driver leaves before the 1 year the driver owes 4200. but as i said I have not spoken with any Central represenatives as of yet just going by the research i have done online. -
that is definetly my first choice, I am curently on disability recovring from surgery on my achilles tendon, it does not look like the the company that i have worked for for the last 8 years is going to allow me to come back to my job. so when I get off disability i will have to apply for unemployment then i should have no problem going that route. but I will not no for sure until december. -
from what I have seen on Knights website Squire is a training company/ or division that is owned by Knight. -
I have heard good things about Millis Transport, as far as training companies go.

Ya I talked to Rebecca at Squire last week -- u need your cdl, "accredited" 160 hour (acutually i think they were 120 hour) school training, with grade transcripts, then there are 3 different training phases ( or Tiers) ( each done at the end of 10,000 miles or 30 days) and u have to go through with a test at the end of each one, then after 3 months at Squire u can transfer to Knightbeboppinbigun1 Thanks this.

Crete pays $500 a week for training. Anyone else come close? If you can qualify that is the place to go.
Knight scares me.
Central? Is that a PAM company? -
If Conway Truckload is taking new students again there isn't a large company out there that can touch their program. I spent 4 weeks in school then two weeks with a trainer and after I pulled my first solo load all but $1,000 of the tuition cost was forgiven. During the two weeks with a trainer I did my 7,500 required miles (all miles with trainer sitting in right seat, or him driving and me watching for a while) and cleared $1,700 or $1,800 if I remember correctly.
They used to use Central Tech in Oklahoma and Crowder College in SW Missouri as their training schools. Both are excellent places to get trained.
Good luck,
Jim
P.S. Christine Harwick used to be in charge of the student program, see if you can get her on the line for an update. -
AFAIK Conway isn't taking students right now. The recruiter I talked to liked the idea of the trainees they got from their school last year.
