I'm trying to find an pto control switch kit to put in a Freightliner M2 to control rpms for pto operation.

We installed a pto and feed bed to a truck, but newer freightliner requires the additional rpm switch installed to go past the 800rpm idle bump up using the cruise controls.

Called our local dealer and they gave me the number for their district's pto parts guy at another dealer, but i've called multiple times, left voicemails, and emailed him with no response. It's coming up on two weeks and need to find these parts for my customer.

@devedo do you have an M2 spec'd with the PTO configuration you need? You're going to need more than just a switch and PTO to get the desired feature to function...

Copying a configuration of a similarly spec'd truck is the easiest thing to do without having to do a CWO.

@RocketyMan The is air controlled and is stationary operated. PTO runs hydraulic pump for the bed operations. Control tower for pto is already installed. Bed operations all work at the lower rpms, but gets bogged down when pushing feed due to the hydraulic pressure not being enough pushing out the pump for loaded operation.

Is the configuration you're talking about through the body builder side or are you talking engine parameters for the remote pto switch to be active? Either ways not a problem to get worked out. It's the same pto and pump we had spec'd previously for a build.

Just having issues with help the remote pto control dash kit with parts.

On newer trucks the pto function is flashed into the ecm when the truck is built.
The cruise rpm limit can be raised by any version of Detroit Diagnostic Link.

@devedo Go to the body builder. They're going to [should] have more resources and know how to get you squared away. The response (picture) I made earlier is in reference that there is "no content" on the truck's S/N from the factory for that specific BOM. Like mentioned above, you're going to need parametrization (of the CPC4 and BHM) in addition to any additional wiring, switches, and PTO (or remote PTO if you want). In addition, you will need the CHEC tool to give the specific lock-outs and logic for the operating conditions that you want (i.e. only with park brake set, etc...).

@RocketyMan is the freightliner body builder software part of DiagnosticLink? If it is I'm guessing our licensing isn't upgraded for that portion of it. I've changed the parameters in the CPC and MCM for PTO control and changed any rpm limiters to 1500, but still have the 800ish rpm limit.

I attached a pic of our Diagnostic Link screen adn the BHM on left side doesn't show availability for changes like the other three that lit up. 20210201_122842.jpg

This is only the 2nd Freightliner we've done a build with that required a higher rpm limit and the first was at least 2yrs ago so all my programming experience is with Internationals and had to do the training classes for my licensing for Diamond Logic.

@devedo So that's a good point with Diamond Logic and Internationals. DTNA uses the CHEC tool which is synonymous to Diamond logic...or similar.

Have you done the CHEC tool ARC training. If you want specific logic for PTOs and such, this is how it is done.

BTW, in your screen shot, you need to uncheck the "Enable automatic connection of SAE standard J1708 and J1939 devices" in the options part of DLink. Then you can connect to the BHM (BulkHead Module) properly.

@devedo There are also more specific training for PTO related items in ARC. You can get more familiarization here too.

@RocketyMan Thanks for the help. I got the shop set up with DTNA Connect, TEMS, and upgraded the Diagnostic licensing . Awaiting acceptance for ARC from their regional vocational manager for the CHEC training.

    RocketyMan Thanks this.
