So it's 2yrs but if you stay there 1yr the 2nd year is waived. ?
Ok. I think that makes sense. I think. Maybe. - After a 3rd STRONG Jack&Coke I will re-read it and see if it -then- makes more sense...
..if it still doesn't make sense at that point, I likely won't care anyways by then....

H,
Ya better lose that Jack and Coke habit before you join me at Millis.
I step away from my thread for 2 days and all hell breaks lose. Makes me proud to see my lil baby grow from 20 posts to over 60. They grow up sooooo fast.
Looks like some good info has been spread around this thread lately. I start in just over a week. I am getting more excited every day.
My friend Sketch drove through Springfield yesterday and we met for coffee. I got a tour of his rig (T600) and saw a nice trailer load full of beer. Made my mouth water.
He has been getting all the miles he has wanted this year. He is on track to make almost 50k for his first year with Millis. Yes he does run hard, but he has enjoyed it.
He has no complaints about Millis. They have taken good care of him and he does what they ask. Since I live right on I-55 he said I would probably get more then enough home time. Even if it was just a 10 hour break in my own bed. Hanadarko, if I recall, you live right off an interstate around Milwaukee so you would most likely get a decent amount of home time. My goal is to be home every other weekend, and I dont think that will be a problem at all without losing too many miles.
Keep the awesome thread going. Schools starts in 12 days.

PS - A classmate of Sketch took a regional route after going OTR for a few months because he wanted more home time. His miles are very low now with the regional route. Last I heard he was doing 1300-1500 miles a week. Hard to make aliving off of that. Sketch has stayed pretty consistent at 2500-3000 miles a week when he is out for all 7 days.
Just an FYI -
When you say he runs hard do you mean that he stays out more than two weeks at a time or are you talking about daily driving?
When you run for Millis do they assign a terminal for you to run out of or do you just go where ever the freight sends you. I guess the question would be , do you have a home terminal ?
TIA -
He runs hard meaning he stays out about 3 weeks at a time. Then he is home for 4-5 days.
He is not assigned a terminal. He goes where the freight takes him. He is able to take his truck and trailer home when he gets his off time. He does end up going by a terminal or drop yard pretty often though so if he needs anything he can get it.wildbill123 Thanks this. -
This is good info....Like I said, I am still split on 2 companies but based on my current work situation, I won't be making any moves until at least 1/2010....I got time to keep reviewing this. If I was single, decisions would be much easier - but that's only 1/2 of it and my personal issues don't belong in this thread.

Spanky, I was wondering if you might be able to answer a couple more questions ?
Does Millis use Prepass ?
Are log pages numbered ? / single pages or in a bound pad ?
Thanks, Bill -
I'm not spanky, but he's probably busy, so i'll answer.. Yes, Millis uses prepass and EZpass for tolls. Log pages are available in log book form and loose leaf (at least i've seen both being used by drivers) and they are not numbered
wildbill123 Thanks this. -
Thanks, Is it mandatory or does the driver have a choice as far as prepass & EZ pass ?
-
I would imagine it is mandatory.. they have it in all the trucks.. why would you not want it?
