Yet they complain when Best Buy runs out of their favorite Wii games or they have to wait in line to get another plasma screen with their government check...

 

True, but that's because food stamps cover more junk food and less healthy fare.

 

Sorry GAP, at least here in my state food stamps cover ALL food except hot/prepared stuff from the deli. That means people on food stamps can buy steak or burger, instant taters or fresh apples.

Fat poor people as someone mentioned is because eatting HEALTHY is EXPENSIVE! IF you are on food stamps and trying to stretch the budget (most people do try) it is better to buy mac and cheese as opposed to chicken breast and fresh veggies.

Yes I know there are those in the system that abuse it and dont need it. However being involved with people who DO need it and DONT abuse it I realize how hard it is for them to make the money last all month and to have a HEALTHY diet according to todays standards.
